July 26, 2006 – Congrats and Moving Forward

I didn’t have a chance to post earlier but I wanted to give a big hand to this year’s winners of the Star Wars Fan Film Awards. You can see the winners and all the finalists at Atomfilms.

2006 Star Wars Fan Film Awards

I also wanted to acknowledge all the other filmmakers and fans who, like myself, made a film that didn’t make it. We do it because we love doing it, not for awards.

As I move forward here I’ve started preproduction on the Aflac parody ad. No potatos in this one. I hope to finalize the script in the next few weeks and then get to shooting. I’m also working out the details for my next film, another short parody. Once again, no potatos. I hope to get it underway and shoot next spring/summer. It’s a long preproduction for a short film, but I hope that it’s worth it. Stay tuned.

July 13, 2006 – 1000 for Spud Wars

1000 hits for Spud Wars on YouTube. You can’t beat that. Well, actually you can. My little films are nowhere near the popularity of say “Ask a Ninja” but then again whose are? Considering you probably have to be looking for it, or at least something like it, I think that’s pretty good. Now if only Revenge of the Spud would start generating more hits. Maybe Google will help that.

July 7, 2006 – Google this

Well, it’s been a while and I’ve been thinking about my next project, but I’m still clearing the debris from the Revenge of the Spud. While I’d love to pursue a Carb Wars Saga and parody all six films, I don’t think that’s in my immediate future. A small two bedroom apartment could barely contain 4 minutes, let alone the two full hours I would want for all six films. I do have another short parody in mind but that’s still in development and quite a ways off. So in the interest of getting my current work out there, I’ve uploaded Revenge of the Spud (seems only appropriate to refer to it as ROTS) onto Google Video. I’m hoping to generate a few more hits and get it seen by just a few more people.

Take a look at on Google right here.
