October 30, 2006 – Iron Man comments…

Monday, October 30th, 2006

It’s bewildering. I allow comments about my movies on YouTube because I love the interaction it provides. Someone can ask me about FX or music and I can respond. I don’t even mind negative comments. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. So far three comments on Iron Man and nearly 600 views and already I’ve infuriated two strangers.

What I don’t like is the random comments like “ur gay” and “dat was stoopid. Im gonna slap you bizache.” Somehow they’re just less constructive. In the past I’ve deleted comments like that, but I plan on leaving most of them from now on. It’s just hilarious to have someone who only goes on YouTube to view (nothing wrong with that) and has only random spiteful things to say. The recent comment that inspired me was this from the user GrizzlyRed:

ur a dozy cunt…ur description shoul say “Bollox waste of time with 2 shagging quotes”…fuckin waster.

I’m not really sure what all that means, but it sounds funny, or at least reads funny. You have just got to love “ur” and “shoul.” But, like the Sex Pistols say, “never mind the bollox.”

I also love this quote from PeterParker2099:

Eh, its okay I guess, but I think the describtion (the “genius getting struck down” part) is a little bit corny, and putting in the names of the cast seemed a little bit unnecessary. But heh, nice try.

I think the condescension on this quote is so thick it actually translates through the web. It’s simply amazing. I also love taking advice from what turns out to be a 16 year old in Singapore with not a single video of his own posted. Actually, I’d take advice from a 16 year old in Singapore if he had wowed me with a video. Really, I would, but no such luck here.

Well, keep ‘em coming. I’ll make more videos to piss strangers off, no worries there.

October 24, 2006 – Iron Man Live

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

I finally went live last night with the Iron Man trailer I’ve been working on. While I’m not totally satisfied with the quality, there doesn’t seem to be alot I can do about it. YouTube is pretty limited in that respect. Check out the new trailer:

October 23, 2006 – I am Iron Man

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

I’ll admit, I know Iron Man more from reputation than from reading the comics. Personally, I’ve always been a Spider-man fan. When I heard about this particular movie, I was intrigued. Tony Stark was a troubled man, and becoming a super hero seemed even a bigger leap than for most characters who donned a costume in the Marvel Universe. His personal demons were a bigger foe than any nemesis. When I recently read that both Robert Downey Jr. and Terrence Howard had been signed and Jon Favreau was directing, the geek in me jumped with joy. Great actors and a director who isn’t accustomed to huge movies, which I think is a winning combination.

Ok. You get it, I’m excited about this movie, even thought not a frame of film has been shot yet. No more commentary about it from me. I was planning on debuting the video this morning but what I uploaded to YouTube looked terrible, so I deleted it, will recompress it and upload it again tomorrow.

October 20, 2006 – Cutting on a Hero

Friday, October 20th, 2006

Last night I finished the first cut of the still secret Super Hero Fan Trailer I’ve been working on. Now that I’ve slept on it, I think I can go back and check the timing of the shots and titles with a bit of perspective. I’ll be able to post the new film on Monday morning if everything goes according to plan.

On a different note:

Spud Wars is exploding! I checked it this morning and it sits at 7,007 hits. WOW. Ok, so it’s been around for a while, and I’ve mentioned before, it’s now Ask a Ninja or Lonelygirl15, but I still think it’s an impressive turn around for something that’s been on there since March and was only recently ready to break 3,000 views. Of course, people need to check out Carb Wars: Revenge of the Spud.

Keep your eyes peeled, that new trailer hits soon. Excelsior!

October 19, 2006 – Viewers?

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

Holy smokes. Well, I don’t know exactly what happened. Maybe I owe a debt of gratitude to Under the Tusken Sun, which was featured just the other day. You see, in the last 24 hours or so, my hit count on all my videos has jumped dramatically. 2,000 additional hits on Spud Wars alone which takes the total to over 5,000. I can assume that people are seeing Tusken, checking out the related videos and then seeing some of my stuff. I’ll take it. Whatever way people get to see my videos is good with me. Here’s to hoping that YouTube finds in in their hearts to feature some more Star Wars stuff.

People just need to start viewing Carb Wars: Revenge of the Spud even more. I think it’s the best of my Spud Saga thus far.

In other news, the Super Hero movie trailer is nearing completion. I should have it done and posted soon.
