January 26, 2007 – Get more stuff

Friday, January 26th, 2007

Well, while work slowly progesses on the next little movie, I need to take just a moment out to thank Jay in Michigan. You see, he took my advice and decided to “support movies, get stuff.” Thanks so much!

For all you others out there, I’ve added some more inventory and more is coming. I’ve got to raise a few bucks here and I’m looking to get a new mic and (fingers crossed) a new camcorder. So don’t delay, supplies are limited and all that other mumbo jumbo you hear on infomercials.

January 23, 2007 – Duck

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

I’m finally making some forward progress on the Aflac parody. No hints as to how it will play out (sorry folks), but the script is written and talent is being recruited. The main thing at this point is getting a duck. It’s a bigger issue than it sounds like it would be.

The duck has to have a certain look. It has to be close enough in look for people to get the idea, but not too close. Of course, that shouldn’t be a problem, there’s no way on earth that we’re going to get a duck that looks as good as the one in the commercials. This is going to have to be a puppet and homemade.

A pattern for a plush goose has been purchased and with a few alterations and the right choice of fabrics, I think my crack production staff will have a working puppet in no time. Well, maybe not “no-time” but I’m sure the duck will be ready before the rest of us are. At least things are moving forward.

January 16, 2007 – Back at it

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

I’ve been behind. Way behind. I’ve been behind on my writing and producing and just generally falling behind on getting anything done. I’m still trying to work out the bugs in this Halo potato parody I’m supposed to be doing, but frankly, it doesn’t come easy. Maybe I’m just not passionate enough about the idea yet. Of course, I was fired up about Spud Wars and Revenge of the Spud, and those still took over a year to complete.

Right now I’m trying to get the band back together, so to speak, and pull off the Aflac parody ad. The script is done, has been for a while, and now it’s just a matter of fixing up some props, putting together the duck, finding a suitable location, and then getting a crew together. Harder than it sounds at this point.
