October 25, 2009 – Relaunch or Reboot?

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

Ok, while things have been down lately, I’ve been working on a new site. Things are going really well and I hope to relaunch the site soon, or is that reboot? I can’t keep track of what the current “Hollywood” lingo for this would be. Anywho – the site is really ready for public consumption and I’ll be getting it online soon. Hopefully it will be sleeker and easier to navigate.

March 13, 2009 – It’s been too long

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Yeah, so I’ve neglected the blog. The whole site has been neglected actually. Rest assured I haven’t been sitting around not thinking about it. In fact, I’ve been thinking about it a lot. In the background I’ve been trying out options for a new site design, something just a little slicker, and finally got the blog migrated over from the awful mess Yahoo gave me on Y360. More changes are coming as soon as I find more time.
Speaking of time, I’ve spent mine working away on a new project. It’s coming, I promise. Pre-production is wrapping on the first in a series of short parodies that I hope to get posted in the coming months. I also just came up with a new short which should be some fun to shoot and posted probably before I get those other films done (yeah, it’s an easy one). Stay with me folks, I’ve got good stuff on the horizon!

April 17, 2008 – Copyright

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Just a quick note before I get into the heart of this post. I’ve started pulling down videos from my old account. I’ve made them private so I don’t loose the number of hits they had or the original date uploaded, but I figured why duplicate? I want to drive more traffic to my new channel so I’m basically stealing my own hits. Which takes us to this…

I just happened to do a search for one of my own videos and came across a second posting of it. While imitation may be the most sincere form of flattery, just up and reposting is not. Now, I really appreciate that someone liked my movies enough to go and repost them, and I give them alot of credit for plugging my website and my channel, but I just don’t get enough hits to be able to afford someone siphoning off a few hundred here or there. Sure, sure, I don’t make these for money so it’s not like it’s really hurting me, except that I would hope that I can grow my movies and productions to the point where someday someone would pay me for this or get partnered and spreading out hits over a ton of different channels and users doesn’t help me. I don’t hold this person in any ill-will for reposting, and I’m sure I’ll have to tackle this again some day, but I do put a ton of work into each and every single one of my movies and all I can get from them is credit for what I’ve done, so I’m going to hold on to that. They’re free, they can be added to favorites and embedded in pages and I think that’s enough. I just draw the line at having someone else’s username attached to them.

April 14, 2008 – Entropy

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Well, Doomed is on a short hiatus. I have to catch up with a few things and then I’ll dive back in with a ton of new episodes, and by a ton I mean 4. Ok, actually more than 4. But until then there’s Entropy. Entropy is a short film I volunteered my voice for. It’s a cool little noir film out of New Zealand done by a film student down there. I saw his posting on one of the film boards I check out and gave it a shot.

You can check it out here: Entropy

March 10, 2008 – Housekeeping! You want pillow fluffed?

Monday, March 10th, 2008

Ok, so that title didn’t make that much sense, but I’ve got a bit of housekeeping to do so here it is:

My two ketchup commercials have been resubmitted for the second version of the Heinz contest, Heinz Take 2. I’m not betting for any better an outcome but I did get a nifty mini Heinz bottle with my name on it so it could be worse.

As mentioned Doomed is live. The teaser and episode #0 are up with the first standard episode to go up this week. It’s entitled “Citizen Doom” and will probably be ready mid-week if I don’t get caught up with all the other things I need to get done.

Also, Carb Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Spud and the Amazing Spider-Spud have now been added to the database at FanFilms.net. I don’t know what kind of traffic that site drives, but it’s great to have the films mentioned somewhere else and hopefully more people will see them. I’ll be adding the Doomed videos as soon as I have a few more up.

That’s all for now but watch for more updates and new and be sure to subscribe to my youtube channel so you can see all my newest videos as they are released.
